Applications invited by Wildlife Institute of India for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) across India. Applicants should have completed Master degree in Wildlife Science/Forestry/Forest Management/Environmental Science/Life Science with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognized University with experience in animal abundance estimation, carnivore sign surveys, camera trapping, radio-telemetry and knowledge in statistics and GIS.

Number of vacancy is one and gross monthly salary of Rs. 12,000/- + HRA as applicable.Qualified candidates of UGC/CSIR/ICAR/ WII-NET for JRF ship and GATE qualified candidates for the award of JRFship in the discipline ‘Ecology and Evolution’ qualified candidate shall be paid Rs. 25,000/- consolidated per month. Qualifications and Experience:

Applicants should have completed Master degree in Wildlife Science/Forestry/Forest Management/Environmental Science/Life Science with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognized University with experience in animal abundance estimation, carnivore sign surveys, camera trapping, radio-telemetry and knowledge in statistics and GIS.

Location:  All over India

Approx. Gross Monthly Salary: Rs. 12,000/- + HRA as applicable. Qualified candidates of UGC/CSIR/ICAR/ WII-NET for JRF ship and GATE qualified candidates for the award of JRF ship in the discipline ‘Ecology and Evolution’ qualified candidate shall be paid Rs. 25,000/- consolidated per month.   

Age Limit: Maximum 28 years. The upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Women and Physically Challenged applicants.

Description of Work: 

To evaluate the prey availability and habitat suitability for tiger and its ranging patterns using radio-telemetry in Sanjay Tiger Reserve, Madhya Pradesh.

The selection of the candidate(s) will be based on the interview to be held on Monday, 20th April 2015 at the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehra Dun. The registrations of the candidates for the advertised positions will be done from 09:00 to 10:00 hrs on 20th April 2015 at WII. Late entrants after the stipulated time as mentioned above for registration will not be entertained, in any case.

Candidate(s) should bring the duly filled-in applications with attested true copies of testimonials   of educational qualifications, research experience, extra-curricular activities, date of birth etc., along with copies of mark sheets of all examinations. All original documents should be produced at the time of registration for document verification. Applications without enclosures and/or incomplete in any respect shall be rejected.
