The Centre for Neuroscience at the Indian Institute of Science recruitment notice to recruit Junior Research Interns under a program grant entitled "Alzheimer's Disease: Understanding mechanisms for early diagnosis and treatment" funded by the Tata Trusts for a period of 5 years. Interested candidates should have B. Tech/M. Tech in Engineering, or M. Sc. or equivalent in any branch of Biology, preferably related to Neuroscience; or M.B.B.S or M.V.Sc. or B.Pharm./M.Pharm from the recognised institution with exposure to clinical work, animal cell culture, PCR, basic biochemical and molecular biology techniques is desirable.

Post: Junior Research Interns

Salary: Rs.20,000/- per month consolidated

Qualification:
(A) Essential Qualifications: Masters’ degree in a relevant area.

Job Description: Assist in laboratory experiments pertaining to pathophysiology of Alzheimer’s disease using mouse models and primary culture systems.

Desirable: Experience with animal cell culture, PCR, basic biochemical and molecular biology techniques and animal handling.

(B) Essential Qualifications: B.Tech degree in a relevant field.

Job Description: To conduct and analyse experiments involving characterization of Alzheimer’s disease using psychophysical techniques.

Desirable: Exposure to clinical work is desirable.

(C) Essential Qualifications: B. Tech/M. Tech in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or Computer Science; or M. Sc. or equivalent in any branch of Biology, preferably related to Neuroscience; or M.B.B.S or M.V.Sc. Job Description: The project involves neurophysiological recordings from animals as well as EEG recordings from animals and humans. Applicants should either have experience with neurophysiological techniques or EEG to help with the recordings, or have strong background in programming and signal processing to help with the analysis. Programming experience in Matlab is preferred.

Desirable: Previous experience in this area of research.

(D) Essential Qualifications: B. Tech/M. Tech in Engineering, or M. Sc. or equivalent in any branch of Biology, preferably related to Neuroscience; or M.B.B.S or M.V.Sc. or B.Pharm./M.Pharm.
