The Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology is an autonomous research organization fully funded by Ministry of Earth Sciences, New Delhi invites application from the eligible candidates for the post of Junior Research Fellow and Project Assistant for Pune location. Bright and motivated young candidates with M.Sc./M.Tech. in Atmospheric Sciences/Physics/Environmental Science/Meteorology can apply for the above posts online before 02 February 2015. Junior Research Fellow should lead to Ph.D. degree.

Qualification:
M.Sc./M.Tech. in Atmospheric Sciences /Physics /Environmental Science/Meteorology from a recognized university /institution. NET/GATE  qualified candidates will be given preference.
Desirable Qualifications: Good knowledge of computer usage in Windows and software packages. Good knowledge of working in LINUX /UNIX system and Fortran programming skill along with WINDOWS.

Age Limit: 

28 years as on 01.02.2015
 

Stipend:  

Rs. 16,000/- plus HRA per month (performance based enhancement after 2 years).
 

Tenure: 2 years (extendable further for 2 years based on satisfactory performance). The candidate should register for Ph.D 

Post 2: Project Assistant

Qualifications:

M.Sc. (Physics/Instrumentation/ Atmospheric Sciences)/Environmental Science) from a recognized University/ Institution.

Desirable Qualifications  

Experience in scientific administration and supervision. Working knowledge of data analysis using standard graphics software in Windows.

Age Limit:

28 years as on 01.02.2015. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for physically handicapped and as per rule for ex-servicemen.
 

Consolidated Salary:  

Rs. 22,000/- month (performance based enhancement after 1 year)
 

Tenure:
Tenure: 2 years (extendable further on satisfactory performance).
