Vacancy for Scientist ‘C’ in INDIAN COUNCIL OF MEDICAL RESEARCH, Mumbai

Applications are invited by INDIAN COUNCIL OF MEDICAL RESEARCH - New Delhi, the apex body in India for the formulation, coordination and promotion of biomedical research, is one of the oldest medical research bodies in the world.

Location: Genetic Research Centre, Mumbai, in the PB- 3, Rs.15600-39100 + Rs. 6600 (GP) and usual allowances as admissible as per Govt. norms.

Qualification & Experience:
(i) MBBS Or M.V.Sc Degree recognized by MCI/VCI respectively with 4 years experience in Genetics or related subjects.
Or
1st Class Master’s Degree in Genetics or Life Sciences equivalent degree from a recognized University with 4 years R&D experience in the relevant subject.
Or
2nd Class M.Sc in Genetics or Life Science or related subjects + Ph.D degree in Genetics from recognized University with 4 years research experience in biomedical subjects.
 
Desirable Qualification:
(i) Post Doctorate in genetic or related science subjects or MD/Ph.D in genetic or the related subject from a recognized University for candidates with first class relevant degree.
(ii) Additional Post doctoral research/teaching experience in genetic or relevant subjects form recognized Institute(s).
(iii) Knowledge of Computer Applications.
 
Requirements:
The candidate is expected to initiate research programmes in applied reproductive genetics or human genetic disorders. To plan and execute research project and to assist the Director and other Scientists in conducting research in thrust areas of the Institute /Centre.

Age Limit: Not exceeding 40 years. Relaxable up to 5 years for Government servants and SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates in accordance with the instructions issued by theDepartment of Personnel & Training from time to time in this regard. However, the prescribed age may be further relaxed in exceptional cases for experienced and qualified candidates.

2. Application forms duly completed in all respects and signed by the applicant should be sent to the Director-in-Charge, Genetic Research Centre, Parel, Mumbai-400012 on or before the closing date.

(a) Proof of Date of Birth
(b) Educational qualification
(c) Experience
(d) List of publications with impact factor & citation: role in clinical & Therapeutic/public health impact of contribution of candidate, list of extramural projects whether R&D sponsored/contractual and
whether as PI/Co-Investigator.


(e) Crossed Indian Postal Order (IPO) for Rs.100/-(Rupees One hundred only) payable to the Director-in-Charge, Genetic Research Centre, Mumbai. SC/ST/Women and Physically Handicapped candidates (PH) are exempted from the application fee. IPOs are payable by all other candidates including ICMR employees.
4.Unsigned/Incomplete application or application without supportive evidence asked for/without postal order application received late are liable to be summarily rejected.
