University of Agricultural Sciences Bangalore, a premier institution of agricultural education and research in the country, began as a small agricultural research farm in 1899 on 30 acres of land donated by Her Excellency Maharani Kempa Nanjammanni Vani Vilasa Sannidhiyavaru, the Regent of Mysore and appointed Dr. Lehmann, German Scientist to initiate research on soil crop response with a Laboratory in the Directorate of Agriculture.

The Librarian post is tenurial and no Reservation is applicable to this Post. The appointment will be for one term of Three years or the date of superannuation of the appointee whichever is earlier.

Qualification:

Master’s Degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC 7 points scale & consistently good academic record.  

At least 13 years as Deputy Librarian in a University Library or 18 years experience as a University/National Institute/College/Librarian of which at least 3 years shall be as Deputy Librarian.

OR

M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation/Archives & Manuscript keeping with 10 years experience as a University/National Institutes/College/ Librarian of which at least 3 years shall be as Deputy Librarian.

Desirable Qualification:
Evidence of innovation in Library services & organization of published work.
